Overview
VO Ceramics is Nhi Vo’s project focused on creating one of a kind hand thrown pottery inspired by architecture and science fiction. Based out of Southern California, previously VO Ceramics has focused on local wholesales at boutiques.
VO Ceramics has seen success selling their pieces locally at boutiques and farmers markets, but loses revenue in doing so. As they increase production on their pieces they need an ecommerce website to increase the availability and reach of their pieces. They also need to develop a marketing strategy to drive traffic to their site.

Wireframes
I created multiple homepage wireframe options using Figma. I wanted to experiment with layout, focusing how best to showcase the beautiful photography created by the artist.
Design System
I collaborated with the creative director in choosing colors and fonts. We chose a muted palette that complimented the pieces without distracting from them.
Logo Design
Inspiration for the logo came from the unique stamp Nhi uses to sign her pieces. I developed a few options but we ultimately went with a more simple minimal design.

Next Steps
To push the business, grow a wider audience and increase sales, VO Ceramics should consider increasing their marketing efforts. This could include social media activity, newsletters or email updates, and collaborating with other artists on collections.
Final Thoughts
VO Ceramics is a successful business but also a personal passion project for Nhi Vo. Each work of art is created by hand and with love. As such the creation of her website was very personal for her. It was important that a website showcasing her work convey her aesthetic. She drove the visual design of the project, and it was a unique experience for me to be able to work alongside an artistic director with such a strong point of view.
Overall we were both happy with the final design of the website. We feel we met our goal of conveying the same sharp and bold elegance as the art pieces.
